Elegant architectural design, lovely decor, comfy beds and furnishings, spotlessly clean, intriguing history, awesome artwork and the Libraries filled with the most captivating books! A Bibliophile’s Dream come True!!!??Our Host was so kind, friendly and generous! He gave us a fascinating tour of the home and grounds - Thank you so much Mr. D!??There are not enough words to describe how Awesome Oceansedge is! My husband, son and I agree, this is finest place we’ve ever stayed at on Mt. Desert Island or anywhere else in the world! If you appreciate truth in advertising you will enjoy your stay at Oceansedge. The pictures and descriptions capture the home perfectly but the in person experience is even better. Every member of our group of 9 enjoyed their time and would say "yes" to a return visit for different reasons. Who would have thought that our almost-adult children could be so captivated by the resident chipmunks, squirrels and ducks? Or, who would have expected the competitive nature of our oldest guests would come alive in our daily bocce "tournaments." This is truly a place that we hope to return to again.

Oceansedge is a meticulously maintained, beautifully landscaped, traditional home on the shores of Hulls Cove, just minutes from Bar Harbor and the entrance to Acadia National Park. The owner is responsive and will do his best to make your stay enjoyable. The property is extremely private; we did not see any neighbors during our stay. There is a general store and a very nice restaurant (The Chart Room) just up the road, and the entrance to Acadia National Park is less than a mile from the house, with access to the Carriage Roads for hiking and biking. The property met all of our need for a relaxing family vacation and the location simply can’t be beat.

While we spent most of our time on the back patio, the house is very comfortable and well appointed with nice space. We just returned from our trip along the Maine coast, and both my husband and I agree, our stay at the Tide Watch Cabins was lovely and relaxing. Yes, the cozy cabins are small, but it's the view of Frenchman's Bay and the sounds and smell of the ocean that make this place special and very reasonable. We did little food prep while we were there, but it was handy to have a fridge and coffee-maker in the room. We could have asked for any plate, utensils, etc from The Chart Room restaurant next door (which has wonderful seafood, by the way). If you are looking for spacious luxury, this place is not for you - but if you want to enjoy your morning coffee or evening wine looking out at the Atlantic from the porch of your little "down east", knotty-pine cabin - you can't beat this place!!

Although we live in the West, if ever we are fortunate enough to find ourselves near Acadia National Park in Maine again, we will know just where to stay. This Hulls Cove home is perfectly appointed, beautiful, serene, and comfortable in every way. Though our party had come with the intention of seeing the national park, we joked more than once about forgetting our plans for Acadia in favor of remaining in the perfect oceanside setting and beauty of the home. That said, this was the ideal, convenient location for visiting spectacular Acadia and the surrounding area. The owner of the home, meticulous for detail, was beyond gracious, kind, and accommodating. We were delighted to find the flag from our home state flying to greet us upon our arrival. We felt in every way as though we were visiting the home of an old friend in the sense that everything we needed had been taken care of, the door was open, the lights were one, everything was perfectly clean and comfortable, and our favorite books were on the shelves. Each person in our party of eight would highly recommend this home--of many vacation rental homes over the years, our favorite!

My husband, Tom and I have returned from our vacation in wonderful Maine and Chatham on Cape Cod hence this rather tardy e-mail. My family and I thank you for a lovely stay in your very welcoming and comfortable home. The location was perfect; so beautiful and so Maine. All of us from the baby to the grandparents enjoyed your picturesque home and grounds. We also delighted in your interesting e-mails especially the soliloquy on the Asticou Inn. We had a delicious dinner there. Once more, my second guess for your middle name is Barrymore. John Barrymore Dyer flows quite nicely. Four-year-old Elsa was in tears on our last morning she did not want to leave. She loved feeding the animals: The chipmunks actually ate out of her hand. We liked all the animals: They were entertaining. We did many fun activities. We hiked, had fantastic popovers with strawberry jam at the Jordan Pond House,went on a sunset sail on the Margaret Todd, ate fabulous lobsters,had blueberry pancakes at Jordan's on Cottage Street, and played on Sand Beach. My younger son, Tim and I experienced sunrise on Cadillac Mountain. Surprisingly there were about sixty other nutty enthusiasts present. Thank you for sharing your gracious home and for taking such good care of us. We had a marvelous time!

Lovely outdoor setting with lots of flowers beautiful landscaping. Also beautiful roomy interior. Our party has six people and we could’ve easily accommodated more. My younger son, T and I experienced sunrise on Cadillac Mountain. Surprisingly there were about sixty other nutty enthusiasts present. It’s our second full day at Hulls Cove and already we have fallen in love with it. I know there are many lovely areas around here for us to see but I cannot believe that they are any more beautiful than your Hulls Cove. Your lovely home is now beginning to feel like our home and we are enjoying every aspect of it. Waking up here each morning here is a joy and a blessing. This has been an amazing holiday. Your home has provided such a cozy place for us return every day after our many adventures. All of our friends thought it was so inviting and loved every minute they were there. It was relaxing, peaceful and serene and afforded us many happy hours. It has been a pleasure to work with you and I am so appreciative that your family is willing to share your lovely home with us. Very lovely home in great location right on the water, private yet close to town. We rented this home starting 23-May thru 30-May 2015. Lovely outdoor setting with lots of flowers and beautiful landscaping as well as beautiful, roomy interior. Our party had 6 people and we could have easily accommodated more. The home is a great place to relax as there are many wonderful books available to enjoy in library as well as all modern amenities one could desire. We rented this home for two weeks at the end of May beginning of June 2015. My only issue is our schedule would not allow us to stay a month. This amazing home is well kept, the owner was very attentive to our special request and needs both prior to and during our stay. The home was close to everything we wanted to enjoy in Bar Harbor but it's location and grounds made us feel like we were "away from it all". We traveled with our married adult children, we had 6 adults one 3 year old and 2 babies in our group. There was plenty of room for everyone. The adults and our 3 year old grand daughter loved watching and feeding the wildlife on the property. We enjoyed the days we spent relaxing at the home just as much as the days we got out and enjoyed the area. If we could spend a month here every year we would! I can sincerely say without hesitation we would rent this home again!

We spent a week in early September. Like another reviewer, we arrived at the time of a full moon, the “super” moon. Beautiful on the Bay! Everything was great. First time in Maine. Have spent many vacations in the Outer Banks. This home far exceeded any that we stayed at in North Carolina. The house was immaculate. Very well equipped with everything needed. The location is great – convenient to Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, etc, – but still very private. We especially enjoyed being able to relax in addition to seeing all the sights, eating out (and in). Mr. Dyer was very accommodating. He definitely wanted us to have a great vacation. Would recommend to anyone. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Every member of our group of 9 enjoyed their time and would say "yes" to a return visit for different reasons. Who would have thought that our almost-adult children could be so captivated by the resident chipmunks, squirrels and ducks? Oceansedge is a meticulously maintained, beautifully landscaped, traditional home on the shores of Hulls Cove, just minutes from Bar Harbor and the entrance to Acadia National Park. The owner is responsive and will do his best to make your stay enjoyable. The property is extremely private; we did not see any neighbors during our stay. There is a general store and a very nice restaurant (The Chart Room) just up the road, and the entrance to Acadia National Park is less than a mile from the house, with access to the Carriage Roads for hiking and biking. The property met all of our need for a relaxing family vacation and the location simply can’t be beat.

We just returned from our trip along the Maine coast, and both my husband and I agree, our stay at the Tide Watch Cabins was lovely and relaxing. Yes, the cozy cabins are small, but it's the view of Frenchman's Bay and the sounds and smell of the ocean that make this place special and very reasonable. We did little food prep while we were there, but it was handy to have a fridge and coffee-maker in the room. We could have asked for any plate, utensils, etc from The Chart Room restaurant next door (which has wonderful seafood, by the way). If you are looking for spacious luxury, this place is not for you - but if you want to enjoy your morning coffee or evening wine looking out at the Atlantic from the porch of your little "down east", knotty-pine cabin - you can't beat this place!!

Although we live in the West, if ever we are fortunate enough to find ourselves near Acadia National Park in Maine again, we will know just where to stay. This Hulls Cove home is perfectly appointed, beautiful, serene, and comfortable in every way. Though our party had come with the intention of seeing the national park, we joked more than once about forgetting our plans for Acadia in favor of remaining in the perfect oceanside setting and beauty of the home. That said, this was the ideal, convenient location for visiting spectacular Acadia and the surrounding area. The owner of the home, meticulous for detail, was beyond gracious, kind, and accommodating. We were delighted to find the flag from our home state flying to greet us upon our arrival. We felt in every way as though we were visiting the home of an old friend in the sense that everything we needed had been taken care of, the door was open, the lights were one, everything was perfectly clean and comfortable, and our favorite books were on the shelves. Each person in our party of eight would highly recommend this home--of many vacation rental homes over the years, our favorite!

Very lovely home in great location. Right on the water. Private yet close to town. We rented this home from May 23 through May 30, 2015. Lovely outdoor setting with lots of flowers beautiful landscaping. Also beautiful roomy interior. Our party has six people and we could’ve easily accommodated more. The home is a great place to relax is there are many wonderful books available to enjoy the library, as well as all modern amenities one could possibly desire. We will certainly consider coming back in the future. Thank you again. We remain grateful for the opportunity.

Our group of four empty-nester couples had a wonderful time at this property.The home is beautifully appointed.The backyard patios, including one of the Oceansedge, are spectacular. Wildlife was in plain view, including several deer, a porcupine, and several types of birds.There was plenty of room to spread out, relax, and enjoy life. The property is on a secluded, treed, private road with easy, quick access to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. The property owner was great to work with, very gracious,and ready to assist with anything to make our stay even more enjoyable. This is great living!

Everything was perfect! We had such a wonderful time. This place, both your home and the area, exceeded our expectations. We loved spending mornings on the back porch having breakfast and feeding the chipmunks. Acadia had so much to do. We biked, hiked, and rock climbed … This will definitely not be our only trip to Bar Harbor. Being able to stay at Hulls Cove was the icing on the cake.

We have arrived and it is lovely. Today was idyllic. We watched the sunset at Bass Harbor Lighthouse and, as we returned to the house this evening, we were welcomed at the top of the driveway by a family of deer. This is quite a special place. Thank you for sharing your home. We are having a marvelous time. We are riding the bikes on the Carriage Trails today. Yesterday we spent walking in the Park. As far as the property…it is beautiful and we are all so happy. We will spend all our free time on the back terrace. Two rather chubby raccoons have kept us entertained all evening. Everything at the house was in wonderful condition when we arrived. We love the house and the beautiful view. What a nice place to spend a vacation! The pet chipmunk is very entertaining – he has made us feel very welcome! We are looking forward to a wonderful week! The house is absolutely lovely - such a beautiful place to spend some time! There was a brief shower and then double rainbow over the water yesterday evening - what a nice a beautiful welcome! We are enjoying the lovely views, the animals and perusing the book collections. I love your collection of books! As an avid reader and history buff myself, I have enjoyed perusing all the titles and collections. The animals on the property were an unexpected treat. We enjoyed feeding them and watching their antics. By Wednesday, the large chipmunk was eating from everyone's hand. My daughter glimpsed the large deer and the raccoon eating together one evening and really enjoyed that! We really enjoyed hiking in Acadia. The area is lovely and we look forward to returning again sometime in the future! Thank you again - we had a wonderful week.

Four-year-old E was in tears on our last morning she did not want to leave. She loved feeding the animals: The chipmunks actually ate out of her hand. We liked all the animals: They were entertaining. We did many fun activities. We hiked, had fantastic popovers with strawberry jam at the Jordan Pond House, went on a sunset sail on the Margaret Todd, ate fabulous lobsters, had blueberry pancakes at Jordan's on Cottage Street, and played on Sand Beach. My younger son, T and I experienced sunrise on Cadillac Mountain. Surprisingly there were about sixty other nutty enthusiasts present. Thank you for sharing your gracious home and for taking such good care of us. We had a marvelous time.

We have arrived at Hulls Cove and It is everything we had hoped for and so much more. It is enchantingly perfect! It is beautiful and so warm, cozy and inviting. Everything was just as it should be. It’s our second full day at Hulls Cove and already we have fallen in love with it. I know there are many lovely areas around here for us to see but I cannot believe that they are any more beautiful than your Hulls Cove. Your lovely home is now beginning to feel like our home and we are enjoying every aspect of it. Waking up here each morning here is a joy and a blessing. This has been an amazing holiday. Your home has provided such a cozy place for us return every day after our many adventures. All of our friends thought it was so inviting and loved every minute they were there. It was relaxing, peaceful and serene and afforded us many happy hours. It has been a pleasure to work with you and I am so appreciative that your family is willing to share your lovely home with us. We have been gone from Hulls Cove now for a full week and I have to admit that I miss it terribly.

We rented this home for two weeks at the end of May beginning of June 2015. My only issue is our schedule would not allow us to stay a month. This amazing home is well kept, the owner was very attentive to our special request and needs both prior to and during our stay. The home was close to everything we wanted to enjoy in Bar Harbor but it's location and grounds made us feel like we were "away from it all". We traveled with our married adult children, we had 6 adults one 3 year old and 2 babies in our group. There was plenty of room for everyone. The adults and our 3 year old grand daughter loved watching and feeding the wildlife on the property. We enjoyed the days we spent relaxing at the home just as much as the days we got out and enjoyed the area. If we could spend a month here every year we would! I can sincerely say without hesitation we would rent this home again!

We spent a week in early September. Like another reviewer, we arrived at the time of a full moon, the “super” moon. Beautiful on the Bay! Everything was great. First time in Maine. Have spent many vacations in the Outer Banks. This home far exceeded any that we stayed at in North Carolina. The house was immaculate. Very well equipped with everything needed. The location is great – convenient to Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, etc, – but still very private. We especially enjoyed being able to relax in addition to seeing all the sights, eating out (and in). Mr. Dyer was very accommodating. He definitely wanted us to have a great vacation. Would recommend to anyone. I wish we could have stayed longer.
